Our goal is to empower battered women to take control of their lives, whereby families are uplifted, and increases their opportunity to reach their full
potential. We seek to eradicate violence against women through education, advocacy, and service.
Be Prepared...Safety First
Once a violent act takes place in a relationship, the violence almost always reoccurs. In fact it tends to become more severe and more frequent. If you are at risk, here are some tips to help you
to think ahead about what to do when there is the threat of another attack, or what to take if you decide to leave the situation.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
LEAVE, If possible and go to a safe place- family, friends, hospital, police, or domestic abuse shelter. Keep an emergency kit that can be easily grabbed when you leave. It should contain: house
and car keys, social security cards, driver’s license, birth, marriage/divorce certificates, immunizations and medical records, money, checkbook, credit cards.
